Record by era

This archive tracks four layers. A record present in 3 of them (HH, M41, IND) is silent in the rest, and says so.

The Horus HeresyM30–M31
imperium
Forge world brought into compliance by the Emperor

A forge world since the Dark Age of Technology whose people worshipped a dragon-god, until the Emperor came to Shenlong in person during the Great Crusade and forced it into compliance. Among those killed was the maker of Lantern, the weapon that became Mortarion's sidearm. The Ikari Fortress, its governor's palace and bastion, was raised in this era as a manufacturing hub and supply base for the Crusade.

Age of the ImperiumM32–M40
[RECORD LOST]
No record for this location in Age of the Imperium.
The 41st Millenniumpre-Rift
contested
Forge world taken by the Word Bearers, then liberated by the Blood Angels

In late M41 Word Bearers spies open the gates of the all-but-impregnable Ikari Fortress and the traitors take Shenlong intact. A Blood Angels force pursuing them from Cybele storms the fortress at heavy cost, and the deed swells the legend of Battle-Brother Arkio, whom the Shenlongi and the Blood Angels alike begin to acclaim as Sanguinius reborn.

Era Indomituspost-Rift
none
Dead world, destroyed by Exterminatus

After the Arkio Insurrection the Shenlongi too eagerly embrace the Word Bearers again, and Chief Librarian Mephiston judges them too tainted to live and orders Exterminatus. By the Era Indomitus Shenlong is a dead world.
