imperium
Civilised world retaken early in the Crusade; the Vincula Insurgency
A world of mirewoods, muddy single-track lanes and old noble estates that commanded a route into the heart of the Sabbat Worlds, so taking it mattered. The Royal Volpone are credited with its liberation, though the Tanith First blew the breach in the walls of Voltis City and were shelled by their own side for it. Afterwards the Ghosts stay on to police the ruined border town of Vincula, where insurgents are still at large.

Position
Map frame: 146, 535 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).

Height above the disk plane: -4.8 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Voltemand (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-03): 'reclaimed for the Imperium early on in the Sabbat Worlds Crusade', 'listed as being won back by the Royal Volpone regiments' with the Tanith First and Only 'also instrumental'; 'Commanding a route into the heart of the sector'; the Battle for Voltis City and the Ketzok 17th's fire on Pavis Crossroads (citing Ghostmaker, Chapter Two); Kosdorf a city grave, the orbital port an early target (citing Of Their Lives in the Ruins of Their Cities). https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gaunt%27s_Ghosts_(Novel_Series) chronology: The Vincula Insurgency, ca. 765.M41, 'While hunting insurgents in Vincula Province on Voltemand'. Lexicanum Gelshahe and Bahu (citing the novel, ch. 8): food and drink 'native to Voltemand'. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no other index record uses the name and Lexicanum's Voltemand article carries no disambiguation notice.
segmentumhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Voltemand infobox: Segmentum 'Segmentum Pacificus', Sector 'Sabbat Worlds', Subsector, System and Population 'Unknown', Affiliation Imperium, Class 'Civilised World'; its map cites Codex: Astra Militarum (9th Edition), pg. 28.
classmedium
'temperate' for what the page says the world LOOKS like, not its infobox tag ('Civilised World', which names a status, not a surface): the Voltemand Mirewoods, 'thick, dark and dank expanses of woodland' crossed by 'muddy, single-track lanes', the Bokore Valley, 'several expansive and ornamental country estates' such as Vortimor House, and the cities of Voltis and Kosdorf (Lexicanum Voltemand); grox grazed on moorland and penned in stone-walled enclosures around Vincula (Lexicanum Grox, citing the novel, ch. 4). A habitable, wooded, farmed world, so the temperate palette; nothing in any source suggests ice, desert, jungle or hive.
gposlow
inferred: the sector is published (Sabbat Worlds, Segmentum Pacificus, Lexicanum Voltemand) and no subsector, neighbour or coordinate is. This dataset already carries the Sabbat Worlds as a cluster on the rimward edge of Pacificus (the fortis-binary and herodor gpos notes). Voltemand was 'reclaimed for the Imperium early on' and commanded 'a route into the heart of the sector', so it is placed on the cluster's coreward side at [146, 535], 30 units from Balhaut and 31 from Fortis Binary and at least 30 from every other marker. The position is editorial within the cluster and asserts nothing finer. Z -4.8 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs voltemand 146 535).
erasmedium
m41 only: the Crusade's reconquest of the world (Ghostmaker, ch. 2, via Lexicanum Voltemand) and the Vincula Insurgency, ca. 765.M41 (Lexicanum Gaunt's Ghosts chronology); the shelf files The Vincula Insurgency M41 — Pre-Great Rift. Allegiance 'imperium' per the infobox. No permitted source speaks of the world in hh, aoi or indomitus.
systemIdmedium
'voltemand': Lexicanum's infobox gives System 'Unknown', so the id is the world's own, as for kathur and golgotha. systems/voltemand.json is a one-body TRUNCATED survey, authored because this is The Vincula Insurgency's PRIMARY setting.
