This archive tracks four layers. A record present in 3 of them (AoI, M41, IND) is silent in the rest, and says so.
The Horus HeresyM30–M31
[RECORD LOST]
No record for this location in The Horus Heresy.
Age of the ImperiumM32–M40
imperium
Astral Claws homeworld; capital of the Badab Sector
A hive world of five billion people and the seat of a sector, handed to a Crusading Chapter founded in the mid-35th millennium to hold the Imperium together through the Nova Terra Interregnum. The Astral Claws kept their fortress-monastery here, the Palace of Thorns, and a roll of battle-honours most Chapters would envy.
The 41st Millenniumpre-Rift
imperium
The Badab War
Lugft Huron stopped sending the tithe, destroyed the investigation fleet sent to ask why in 901.M41, and took three other Chapters into rebellion with him. It took a little over a decade and a siege of this world to end: in 912.M41 a dying Star Phantoms captain put a melta blast through the right side of the Tyrant's body in the Palace of Thorns, and what was left of the Astral Claws carried him into the Maelstrom.
Era Indomituspost-Rift
imperium
Under Star Phantoms dominion
The Imperial Mission ran the sector after the war and the Star Phantoms hold it now, which is the arrangement the Tyrant of Badab has spent every century since trying to overturn from the storm next door.
Position
Map frame: 600, 578 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 127 units ≈ 13.5k light years, south-east of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: 1.4 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.
System: Badab System

segmentumhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Badab_Primaris infobox Segmentum = Ultima Segmentum; Sector = Badab Sector; System = Badab System. 'Badab Primaris (or Badab II) is the second planet in the Badab system, located in the Ultima Segmentum, close to the Maelstrom warp rift'
classhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Badab_Primaris infobox Class = 'Adeptus Astartes Homeworld (formerly), Hive World', Population 5,170,000,000, and its named major locations include Hive Dominar. Painted `hive`: here the canon tag and the surface description agree, because the page names an actual hive on it and gives it five billion people, so the palette that paints rock built on until the rock stops showing is the right picture rather than a tag copied blind.
gposmedium
derived: canon gives the segmentum, the sector it is the capital of, and one relative bearing — 'close to the Maelstrom warp rift'. Placed 41 units from this dataset's Maelstrom feature centre, which is just outside the storm's 20-unit radius: near it, not in it, which is exactly what the source says and what made the sector worth garrisoning. No published bearing exists; the z is the documented zPolicy value for this id.
erashigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Astral_Claws Founding 'believed to be Tenth Founding (mid M35)', Homeworld 'Badab Primaris', Fortress-Monastery 'The Palace of Thorns/High Guard Orbital Fortress'; https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Huron_Blackheart — the tithe-hoarding, the destruction of the investigation fleet in 901.M41, the Palace of Thorns in 912.M41 and Captain Zhrukal Androcles of the Star Phantoms; https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Badab_Primaris — 'The Imperial Mission took over the running of Badab after the war' and it 'is now under the dominion of the Star Phantoms'. No hh key: the Chapter that made this world matter was not founded until M35, and canon records nothing about the world during the Heresy.
rankhigh
editorial: rank 3. The world is named in its own right and carries a war, but it is the antecedent of the Red Corsairs story rather than a place tracked books visit — one `mentioned` join at the time of writing.
riftSidemedium
not asserted, for the same reason as new-badab: the app derives IMPERIUM SANCTUS from greatRift.spline for [600, 578], and canon says the Maelstrom this world sits beside became part of the Rift rather than a boundary with a side. Left to the geometry rather than overridden.
