Mist-shrouded marshland around Grayloc Manor; the world itself is unnamed
Vansen Falls, a marshy, mist-shrouded backwater where Grayloc Manor stands, the house of the late Colonel Grayloc and her antiquarian library. Something forbidding lurks in the marshes and casts a shadow over the manor. No permitted source names the world it is on or places it. The Colonel's Monograph is set here.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/The_Colonel%27s_Monograph_(Novella ) (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-02), quoting Black Library's description: 'something forbidding lurks in the mist-shrouded marshes of Vansen Falls, casting a shadow over Grayloc Manor'. The same text on Black Library's product page (https://www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-horror/WH-Quick-Reads/the-colonels-monograph-ebook-2019.html, read as its Internet Archive copy of 30 Aug 2026). Graham McNeill calls it 'very intimate and claustrophobic' (Warhammer Community, 'Coming Soon: Novella Series 2', 31 Jul 2019, Internet Archive copy).
namemedium
NOT ASSERTED. Vansen Falls is a locality (its marshes, the manor), not a planet name, and no permitted source names the world it is on. Lexicanum's Vansen Falls and Grayloc Manor links are empty pages and its full-text search finds 'Vansen Falls' only on the novella page. The book names Heliogabalus, Yervaunt and Darania; none is stated to be the manor's world, so none is merged into this record.
offMaphigh
unplaceable: the setting's world is unnamed in every permitted source and nothing places it, as for the cemetery world of The Wicked and the Damned. No systemId and no survey (no-system-survey): canon enumerates nothing about the system, not even the world's name.
classlow
'temperate' from the only terrain words published: 'the mist-shrouded marshes of Vansen Falls' and a manor estate with a celebrated colonel's library, a settled, damp, green world. The dataset has no marsh palette. 'death' (this dataset's toxic green jungle) was refused because nothing calls it a jungle or a death world; 'ocean' because marshland is not open sea; 'agri' because no farming is described.
erasmedium
indomitus only: Lexicanum's List_of_Media_set_during_the_Era_Indomitus lists The Colonel's Monograph (2019) among its novellas. Allegiance 'imperium': Colonel Grayloc is 'a celebrated hero of the Imperium' and Teresina Sullo a former archivist (publisher's description).
