Shrine World besieged by the World Eaters
An ancient and storied Imperial shrine world on the fringes of the Cicatrix Maledictum, its cities named for saints: the capital Saint Ofelias with its Cathedral of the Martyr, Saint Ciubrus, and the Shrine of Saint Iglese reached through the world's catacombs. Khorne's warbands, led by the World Eaters Chaos Lord Dravek Soulrender, have overrun it, and the Black Templars of the Second Dorean Crusade come to relieve it in Broken Crusade.
Position
Map frame: 928.6, 603.8 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 441 units ≈ 46.9k light years, east of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: 7.5 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.
System: Tempest System

identityhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tempest_(World ) (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-02): 'Tempest is an ancient and storied Imperial Shrine World, that was invaded by Khorne Chaos Space Marine Warbands. The Black Templars mustered the Second Dorean Crusade to relieve it', Class 'War World, Shrine World', Affiliation Imperium, sole source Broken Crusade (Novel) chs. 3-4, 12-14. Warhammer Community, 11 Sep 2024 reveal (https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/QcgtF3py/broken-crusade-is-the-latest-black-library-tale-of-the-black-templars/): 'the sands of Tempest – an ancient, storied shrine world ... assailed by the murderous warbands of the Blood God', 'On the fringes of the Cicatrix Maledictum'. Cities from Lexicanum Emeric_(Castellan) (chs. 6-11). NAME-COLLISION CHECK: Lexicanum Tempest_(disambiguation) lists no other world of the name (an Armageddon ocean, ship classes, a Dictator-class cruiser, a Chapter), and no index record uses the id or label.
segmentumhigh
null: the infobox leaves Segmentum, Sector, Subsector and System blank and files the world under 'Segmentum Unknown'. 'The fringes of the Cicatrix Maledictum' (the reveal) is not a position: the Rift crosses the whole galaxy.
gposlow
inferred: NAMED but never located, so no segmentum is claimed and the record sits on the unsurveyed rim at the generator's rim_xy('tempest') = [928.6, 603.8] (build_locations.py's rim_xy evaluated on its own, reproducing eswulus [856.1, 758.0] and orthoda-rex [884.0, 732.7]; the script itself was not run). The position carries no information and must not be read as one. Z 7.5 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs tempest 928.6 603.8).
classmedium
'shrine', chosen from what the sources describe and not copied from the tag: the reveal's one terrain word is 'the sands of Tempest', and what Lexicanum describes on the surface is saint-named shrine-cities, a cathedral, a shrine and catacombs. The shrine palette's pale bone plains under a votive glow fit both; 'desert' would paint dune fields with no cities, and the infobox's other tag, War World, is a state of siege, not a look. Medium because no colour words are published.
erasmedium
indomitus only: the reveal places the novel on the fringes of the Cicatrix Maledictum, so after the Great Rift, and Lexicanum First_Dorean_Crusade (ch. 2) has the Second Dorean Crusade more than two hundred years after a first one fought soon after the Rift opened. Allegiance 'contested' and the status are the siege the book is set in; the outcome is kept off the record because it would spoil the book.
systemIdlow
editorial: 'tempest', the world's own name; no source names a system, star or other body. No survey authored (no-system-survey): although Tempest is the book's PRIMARY setting, canon enumerates nothing about its system, not even a body count, and an invented one-star-one-planet file would contradict the one thing the sources say.
