ork
Ork world; Operation Thunderstorm, 998.M41
A world of mountains, sandy plains and basalt outcrops under a thick sulphurous cloud that smells of rotten eggs, blocks the vox and lets shifting dust fine enough to pass through skin pores whip up into storms. Ghazghkull Thraka took it after the Second War for Armageddon, and Commissar Yarrick's pursuit ended here in defeat: his Baneblade, the Fortress of Arrogance, was crippled by a Stompa in a canyon of the Ishawar Mountains and abandoned, and Yarrick was captured. Shortly before the Third War for Armageddon the Imperial Guard 18th Army Group 'Exolon' lands at the Hadron Plateau to find and retrieve the tank, pushing through the old Imperial outposts of Karavassa, Tyrellis and Balkar, the Garrando and Hadar deserts and the Red Gorge toward the Ishawar Mountains, the expedition of Gunheads.

ork
Ork-held; staging world for the Fourth War for Armageddon
Still in Ork hands. Ghazghkull moves his gigantic Mega-Tellyshokka array to the Golgotha System to open the Fourth War for Armageddon, first using it to teleport the world of Chosin to a new location before invading Armageddon itself.
Position
Map frame: 547, 531 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 56 units ≈ 6k light years, south-east of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: -1.2 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.
System: Golgotha System

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Golgotha (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-02): 'Golgotha is an Ork World, conquered and infested by forces under the command of Ghazghkull Thraka after the Second War for Armageddon'; Yarrick's defeat in the Ishawar mountain range and the abandonment of the Fortress of Arrogance; Operation Thunderstorm and the 18th Army Group 'Exolon' under General deViers, cited to Gunheads (Novel). https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gunheads_(Novel) (read 2026-10-02): 'a Cadian Army Group is landed on Golgotha, to retrieve the wreckage of the Fortress of Arrogance'; Black Library's own page spelled it 'Golgoltha', which Lexicanum records as an error against the novel's 'Golgotha'. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: Lexicanum's Golgotha article is headed 'This article is about the Ork World. For other uses of Golgotha, see Golgotha (disambiguation)'; its Note 1 says this world is NOT in the Golgotha Subsector of the Armageddon Sector of the Segmentum Solar, a confusion it attributes to the name. No other index record uses the name.

'desert' from what the page says it LOOKS like: 'A world of mountains, sandy plains and rocky outcrops', 'viewed from space, the planet looks like a stirred-round mixture of reds, yellows and browns', constantly shifting sands that whip up into storms, and an Army Group route through the Garrando and Hadar deserts (Lexicanum Golgotha, Geography and Planetary Conditions, cited to the novel). The infobox's 'Ork World, possibly Tomb World' is an ownership and history tag, not a look, so it is not copied (ADDING-A-BOOK Step 5a2).
segmentumhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Golgotha infobox: Segmentum 'Ultima Segmentum', cited to Apocalypse pgs. 2-3 (the map pages), Subsector 'Golgothan Subsector' (Gunheads ch. 2 p. 11), System 'Golgotha System'; the article is filed under Ultima Segmentum. Note 1: 'The planet of Golgotha has been identified as being near the north-western boundary of the Maelstrom on maps of the galaxy since 5th edition.'
gposlow
inferred: the segmentum is published and so is a relational bearing (near the north-western boundary of the Maelstrom, Lexicanum Golgotha Note 1, citing the Warhammer 40,000 5th Edition rulebook map pgs. 116-117); no coordinate is. This dataset carries the Maelstrom as a region feature (regions.json, centred [568, 552] with a 20-unit radius, as the kyren record notes), and in this frame north is lower y and west is lower x (Cadia [232, 348] lies north of Terra [242, 522]). Golgotha is placed on the bearing due north-west of that centre at 29.7 units, just outside the storm's edge; no marker lies within 15 units. Z -1.2 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs golgotha 547 531).
erasmedium
m41: Operation Thunderstorm is dated 998.M41 (Lexicanum Operation_Thunderstorm, citing the novel), Yarrick's defeat follows the Second War for Armageddon, and the shelf files Gunheads M41 — Pre-Great Rift. Allegiance 'ork': the world is held by the Orks before, during and after the novel ('Since then ... Golgotha has remained in Ork hands'). indomitus: the Mega-Tellyshokka array and Chosin (Lexicanum Golgotha, Fourth War for Armageddon, citing the Operation Imperator Rulebook p. 30), carried at medium because no shelved book is set there in that era. hh and aoi carry nothing: no permitted source speaks of the world before M41 beyond a Squat-era retcon the article files under Trivia.
systemIdhigh
'golgotha': Lexicanum Golgotha infobox System 'Golgotha System' (Operation Imperator Rulebook p. 30); the article also calls it 'the now Ork-occupied Golgoth System'. systems/golgotha.json is a one-body TRUNCATED survey, authored because this is the novel's PRIMARY setting.
