A decade-long Ork siege of the city of Broucheroc
A world of little tactical or material worth whose underground promethium the Imperium refuses to give up. Its city of Broucheroc has been held for more than ten years by the 902nd Vardan Rifles, the last of three Vardan regiments, beside the 35th Zuvenian Light Foot, against millions of Orks: a static war of trenches and foxholes in which a replacement Guardsman is expected to live fifteen hours. The planet itself is never named.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Fifteen_Hours_(Novel ) (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-01): Larn 'finds himself fighting on the wrong planet in the wrong war zone at the city of Broucheroc; a city contested for over a decade by the small Imperial force of the 902nd Vardan Rifles Regiment against millions of Orks'. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/902nd_Vardan_Rifles (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-01): three Vardan regiments 'deployed to protect the planet's supply of promethium from an Ork Waaagh!', 'the low tactical and material worth of the planet', trench warfare, 'pinned down in the city for more than ten years', life expectancy 15 hours. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/35th_Zuvenian_Light_Foot (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-01): 'the Defence of Broucheroc ... to protect the planet's promethium supply', 'static defence in depth with trenches in all theatres', ch. 14 p. 218.

unplaceable: every permitted source names the CITY and calls its world only 'the planet'. Lexicanum has no Broucheroc article and its full-text search for 'Broucheroc' returns five pages (the novel, Vardan_Rifles, 902nd_Vardan_Rifles, 35th_Zuvenian_Light_Foot, Jumael_Volunteers), none naming the world (read 2026-10-01). The book never names its world, which is SCHEMA.md's unplaceable rule; a rim record named 'Broucheroc' would assert a planet of that name that no source supports.
classlow
'dead', the dataset's convention for an unnamed war-world with no published terrain (cf. unnamed-ork-effigy-world). The sources describe only trenches, foxholes, a besieged city and promethium underground. 'ice' was weighed and refused: the 902nd's greatcoats and fur-lined helmets (Lexicanum 902nd_Vardan_Rifles) are uniform, not a description of the land. 'hive' refused: one besieged city is not a hive world.

Only 'm41': the novel is undated and the shelf files it M41 — Pre-Great Rift. Allegiance 'contested': an Imperial-held city under an Ork siege of more than ten years (Lexicanum 902nd_Vardan_Rifles).
