Wolfspear homeworld, watching the Pit of Raukos
An arid world inside the Pit of Raukos, taken back from the Iron Warriors and Word Bearers by the Indomitus Crusade and handed to the Wolfspear, a Chapter of Space Wolves descendants raised to guard the Pit. Daemons come out of the rifts by night and the light of its star, Beta-Kalapus, drives them back at dawn. The Attilan Gate into Imperium Nihilus opens nearby, which is why the Pit matters.
Contested record
Lexicanum records a source conflict: Dark Imperium makes 108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2 the Wolfspear homeworld; White Dwarf 468 calls them a fleet-based Chapter
Position
Map frame: 735, 510 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 235 units ≈ 25k light years, east of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: 3.5 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.
System: Beta Kalapus System

identitymedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ulvheim and https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2 — 'the arid Imperial homeworld of the Wolfspear Chapter, which lies within the Pit of Raukos. It was originally known as 108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2'; 'Sometime later, the Wolfspear renamed the world Ulvheim' (read through a search-engine extract of the page on 2026-09-30 (a direct browser read was not available that run, and Lexicanum refuses WebFetch/curl); needs a direct read to confirm). One world under two names, so one record with an alias.
book-joinmedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vashtorr the Arkifane 'dispatched a Daemon named Silik to the Forge of Souls, where it gathered a massive army of Soul Grinders led by the Daemon Prince N'Thragor to attack Ulvheim in order to bring out Cawl'; Silik and N'Thragor are in Archmagos' own cast list, ch. 27 (https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Archmagos_(Novel), read directly). https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Battle_of_Ulvheim — 'The Imperials were successful in defending Ulvheim and activating the Pylon network, sealing the Pit of Raukos and stabilizing the Attilan Gate' (read through a search-engine extract of the page on 2026-09-30 (a direct browser read was not available that run, and Lexicanum refuses WebFetch/curl); needs a direct read to confirm). Joined as `visited`: a significant on-page battlefield, not the book's centre, which is Cawl's expedition to the Scorean Singularity.
classmedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Ulvheim 'the ARID Imperial homeworld' (read through a search-engine extract of the page on 2026-09-30 (a direct browser read was not available that run, and Lexicanum refuses WebFetch/curl); needs a direct read to confirm). Arid is a terrain word, so `desert`; the Adeptus Astartes Homeworld tag is a use, not an appearance, and was not copied.
segmentumlow
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Attilan_Gate inferred, two hops: — the Gate is 'located near Attila' and 'was discovered near the Pit of Raukos Warp Rift'; https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Attila — 'an Imperial world located in the Ultima Segmentum' (both read through a search-engine extract of the page on 2026-09-30 (a direct browser read was not available that run, and Lexicanum refuses WebFetch/curl); needs a direct read to confirm). Nothing states Ulvheim's segmentum directly.
gposlow
inferred: region-level at best. Placed just on the Sanctus side of our Great Rift spline inside Ultima (the rift line runs through y≈498 at x=735), because the Pit of Raukos sits beside the Attilan Gate, a crossing of the Rift, and Guilliman crossed INTO Imperium Nihilus from there. Canon publishes no sector, subsector or coordinate for the Pit; x along the Rift is arbitrary within Ultima. Z from compute-z.mjs.
systemmedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/108/Beta-Kalapus-9.2 'the light of the local star, Beta-Kalapus, banishes them' (read through a search-engine extract of the page on 2026-09-30 (a direct browser read was not available that run, and Lexicanum refuses WebFetch/curl); needs a direct read to confirm); systemId `beta-kalapus` from that star name. No survey authored: the world is not this book's primary setting and canon enumerates no other body.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Battle_of_Raukos Only `indomitus`: the world enters Imperial record when the Indomitus Crusade takes it during the Battle of Raukos (, via the Ulvheim page).
