Black Templars recruiting world, its keep razed by the Blood Scar Orks
A storm-troubled feudal world of petty kingdoms and vassal lords, living off sheep-farming, forestry, livestock, mining and quarrying, settled in the Dark Age of Technology. The Black Templars took it a thousand years earlier, when Marshal Emrik purged a genestealer cult that held almost the whole planet, and kept a monastery-fortress there to resupply and gather recruits between crusades; its castellan was the real overlord of the world. In late M41 the Blood Scar Orks of Warboss Morkrull Grimskar fell on the keep just before Marshal Brant's fleet came home, and the crusade that left in pursuit took the world's name. Crusade for Armageddon opens here. Conquest of Armageddon recalls the world's history: when the crusade left, the Templars razed the ruins of the keep and left a warning beacon in orbit, so Solemnus recruits for no Chapter and stands as a memorial to the fallen.

Map frame: 482.4, 950.8 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 451 units ≈ 48k light years, south of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: -10.9 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Solemnus (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-02): 'Solemnus is a former recruiting world of the Black Templars', infobox Class 'Feudal World, former Adeptus Astartes Recruiting World, Forbidden World', System 'Solemnus System'; the monastery-fortress and the Blood Scar attack cited to Crusade for Armageddon (Novel), Prologue pgs. 15-21; settlement, economy and government cited to Conquest of Armageddon (Novel), ch. 2. Corroborated by Lexicanum Blood_Scar, Jarold, Hagan, Dedric and Emrik_(Marshal), all citing the novel's Prologue. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no index record uses the name, and Lexicanum's Solemnus page carries no disambiguation note. Not to be confused with solemnace (Solemnace, Trazyn's Necron gallery world in Ultima Segmentum), a different world with a similar name.
segmentumhigh
null: the Lexicanum infobox leaves segmentum, sector and subsector blank and files the world under 'Segmentum Unknown'. The fleet was returning from 'the Apollo Subsector and the site of the Liberation of Lugnasad' (Prologue pg. 17), which says where the fleet had been, not where Solemnus is.
gposlow
inferred: the world is NAMED but canon never locates it, so the record claims no segmentum and sits on the unsurveyed rim at the generator's rim_xy('solemnus') = [482.4, 950.8] (the function in build_locations.py evaluated on its own, which reproduces heliogabalus [930.6, 442.4], chevreuse [931.5, 388.0] and kallash [759.0, 848.6]; the script itself was not run). The position carries no information and must not be read as one. Z -10.9 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs solemnus 482.4 950.8).
classmedium
'feral' from what the page says it LOOKS like, not from the infobox tag: a storm-troubled pastoral world of sheep-farming, forestry, livestock and quarrying under petty kingdoms (Lexicanum Solemnus, citing Conquest of Armageddon ch. 2). That is the forested, unspoiled feudal world the dataset's feral palette draws, the same call made for Caliban and Chogoris. 'fortress' was refused: the monastery-fortress is one keep on the world, not the world, and it is razed in the novel's Prologue. 'dead' was refused: 'Forbidden World' describes the warning beacon the Templars leave in orbit afterwards, not a lifeless surface.
erashigh
m41 only: the keep falls in late M41 (Lexicanum Blood_Scar, Hagan, Jarold; the pages disagree on the year, Rok giving 886.M41 and Morkrull_Grimskar 987.M41, so no year is written into the record) and the novel's Prologue date on Armageddon is 3.872.999.M41 (Lexicanum Antre_Dashparov). Allegiance 'imperium'. The later abandonment and the beacon (Conquest of Armageddon ch. 6, pg. 58) are NOT written into the status, which stays the state Crusade for Armageddon shows; they were added to the m41 summary on 2026-10-02 when Conquest of Armageddon was shelved, with the world's settlement, economy and Marshal Emrik's conquest (ch. 2, pgs. 21-29), all from Lexicanum Solemnus.
systemIdmedium
'solemnus', for the Solemnus System Lexicanum's infobox names. No star or other body is published, so no survey is authored: the world is VISITED (the Prologue), not the book's primary setting, and the synthesiser draws it from the class.
