World of a rumoured relic of Sanguinius, visited by the Blood Angels
The world a rumour about the Blood Angels' slain primarch draws Chief Librarian Mephiston to, with warriors of the Fourth Company under Captain Castigon, after the shadow of the lost battle barge Eclipse of Hope left him a warning about the Pallevon System. Its secrets, and what the Blood Angels of the 5th Black Crusade left there, are the novella's to tell.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Mephiston:_Lord_of_Death_(Novella Mephiston: Lord of Death (Novella), David Annandale, Black Library, January 2013: the Black Library cover description quoted on ) (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-03): 'Mephiston is sorely tested when he descends with his brothers to Pallevon following a rumour about their slain primarch. But there are secrets on this world'. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Eclipse_of_Hope (the ship; citing the short story Eclipse of Hope): Mephiston gleaned 'a warning related to the Pallevon System'. https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Doombreed (citing the novella, chapters Four, Eight and Nine) and https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/5th_Black_Crusade name 'the planet Pallevon'. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: Lexicanum's full-text search for Pallevon returns only those four pages (the same world); https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Pallevon has no article text; Lexicanum Gamigin spells it 'Pavellon' once (a typo for the same world; that page does not exist either); no index record uses the id or label.
classlow
editorial: 'temperate', the palette's neutral default, because no permitted source describes what Pallevon LOOKS like (no terrain, climate or colour word; there is no Lexicanum article and so no infobox tag either). The only thing on the surface any source names is a statue (Lexicanum Doombreed, chapter Four). 'dead' and 'daemon' were refused: nothing says the world is lifeless or warped, and the daemon palette would paint the novella's secret onto the map. As for khadar, lyca and misbah. Repaint if a permitted host describes its surface.
segmentumhigh
null: no permitted source names a segmentum, sector, subsector or neighbour for Pallevon. The 5th Black Crusade it is tied to raged in the Elysia Sector, Ultima Segmentum (Lexicanum 5th_Black_Crusade infobox), but the Eclipse of Hope 'disappeared during the crusade' and nothing says Pallevon lies in that sector, so the segmentum is not inferred from it.
gposlow
inferred: the unsurveyed rim, rim_xy("pallevon") from warhammer-3d-map/app/tools/build_locations.py = [308.5, 908.7]. The position carries NO information: the book names the world and canon never locates it. Z -0.8 from compute-z.mjs under zPolicy. Upgrade candidate.
erashigh
m41 only: the novella is set in M41 after Mephiston's rebirth and before the Devastation of Baal (Lexicanum Mephiston: Lord of Death (Novella): Mephiston as Chief Librarian; Francesi_Castigon: Captain of the 4th Company, killed later at Baal), and Lexicanum Doombreed places the encounter 'five millennia' after the Eclipse of Hope vanished in 723.M36. Allegiance 'unknown': no source says who, if anyone, holds the world. The 5th Black Crusade history and what was imprisoned there are kept out of the status and summary (they are the book's SPOILERS entry); the m41 record is the world as the Blood Angels arrive.
no-system-surveyhigh
No systems/pallevon.json is authored although Pallevon is this book's PRIMARY setting, by the Step 5b rule for a setting canon enumerates nothing about: the 'Pallevon System' is named (Lexicanum Eclipse_of_Hope) but no permitted source names its star, a sibling body, a moon or a body count, so a one-star-one-planet file would invent the only thing it shows. The map synthesises the system from this record. Upgrade candidate the day a source describes the system.
