imperium
Imperial shrine and cemetery world of the Cadian Gate, attacked by the Black Legion
A shrine world covered in thousands of sepulchres, Saint Nadezhda's among them, strung along her ancient pilgrimage route. In 999.M41, as Abaddon's Thirteenth Black Crusade falls on Cadia, the Black Legion attacks one of its shrines and a Chaos sorcerer hunts through its tombs, and the Order of the Sacred Rose is diverted from the defence of Cadia to secure it.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orison_VIII (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-01): 'Orison VIII is an Imperial Shrine and Cemetery World, that lies within the Cadian Gate', citing Daemonbreaker (Novel) and the Warhammer Community reveal of 3 Jun 2024. The publisher's own posts name 'the shrine world of Orison VIII': https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/kNQyUQDQ/sunday-preview-the-imperial-agents-mobilise/ and https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/dPE1SHJT/saturday-pre-orders-purge-the-mutant-the-heretic-and-the-alien/ (both read directly 2026-10-01). NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no other index record uses the name; https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orison did not load (timed out) and the Orison VIII article names no other world called Orison.
segmentummedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orison_VIII derived: places the world 'within the Cadian Gate' (citing the novel, ch. 1), and the Cadian Gate is the corridor around Cadia, which https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Cadia gives as Segmentum Obscurus. Lexicanum's own infobox leaves the segmentum blank (category 'Segmentum Unknown'), so this is a region-to-segmentum step, not a quoted field.
gposlow
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orison_VIII inferred: region-level. The only geography published is 'within the Cadian Gate' (), and the Sacred Rose is diverted there on its way to Cadia (https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Aveline_Aboy%C3%A9, ch. 1). Placed in the Gate beside this index's Cadia (232, 348), on the Imperial side away from the Eye of Terror, at [246, 340]. No sector, subsector, system neighbour or bearing is published, so the coordinate claims nothing finer than 'in the Cadian Gate, near Cadia'. Z from compute-z.mjs under zPolicy.
classmedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Orison_VIII 'shrine' from what the sources say it LOOKS like, not the infobox tag: 'Thousands of sepulchers cover its surface, including notably that of Saint Nadezhda' (, citing ch. 1), and the publisher calls it 'the shrine world of Orison VIII' (https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/kNQyUQDQ/sunday-preview-the-imperial-agents-mobilise/). This dataset's shrine palette is pale bone plains with gilded peaks, which is a world of tombs. Lexicanum's infobox also tags it War World and Cemetery World; 'war' is what happens there, not how it looks, and 'dead' would draw an airless cinder, which nothing says it is.
erashigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Order_of_the_Sacred_Rose Only 'm41' is carried. dates the battle '999.M41 - Battle on Orison VIII during the 13th Black Crusade' (citing the novel, ch. 1), and the posts set it as the Despoiler's attentions turn to Cadia. The pilgrimage route of Saint Nadezhda is from https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Aveline_Aboy%C3%A9 (ch. 6-7). What happens to the world later in the book is in the book's spoiler entry and is kept off this record.
systemIdlow
editorial: 'Orison' from the Imperial convention that a numeral names a planet's order around its star, so Orison VIII is read as the eighth world of an Orison system. No permitted source names the system or its star; Lexicanum's System field is blank.
