necron
Necron time device, sealed in the webway
A necron engine for working on time itself, built in the webway in the distant past by the Hyksos Dynasty under its Phaeron Setekh, and judged so dangerous by the Triarch that the whole dynasty was sealed away with it. The eldar call it the Well of Night. Ahriman went looking for it to undo the Pyrodomon (Ahriman: Eternal), and at the start of Ahriman: Undying he has it at last, adrift in a sub-realm outside space and time. What it does in that book is kept off this record because it would spoil it.
Era Indomituspost-Rift

No record for this location in Era Indomitus.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Key_of_Infinity (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-03): 'known to the Eldar as the Well of Night (Ahriman: Undying, Prologue), is a powerful Necron time manipulation device'; 'Constructed in the Webway by the Hyksos Dynasty under Phaeron Setekh in the distant past, the device was deemed too dangerous by the Triarch' (Ahriman: Eternal chs. 3, 24). Black Library's description (Lexicanum Ahriman:_Undying_(Novel)): 'Ahriman languishes on the threshold of space and time, adrift in a sub-realm of unknowable dimension and aspect. He has found it at long last: the ancient device known to the necrons as the Key of Infinity.' NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no index record uses the id or label.
offMaphigh
unplaceable: the Key lies in the webway (Lexicanum Key_of_Infinity; Ahzek_Ahriman: 'Still trapped in the Webway', citing Ahriman: Undying), which has no realspace position. Gutter render beside Commorragh.
typemedium
editorial: the schema's four types are planet/moon/station/ship; a necron device-tomb in the webway is modelled as a station with offMap set, as Commorragh is. No system survey: canon enumerates no bodies (no-system-survey).
erashigh
m41 only. Lexicanum dates the reawakening of Setekh and the hunt for the Key to M41 (Setekh_(Phaeron): 'reawakened by Ahriman and his cabal in M41'; Hyksos_Dynasty: 'In late M41 Setekh was freed'). Its fate in Ahriman: Undying (Key_of_Infinity, ch. 20) is a spoiler and is kept off the record.
