imperium
Imperial penal world in revolt, its prison-hive held by rebels
A barren penal world of jagged mountain ranges and deep valleys in the Finial Sector, holding prisoners from Vostroya, Pan and Savlar. In Commissar a rebellion led by Colonel Strannik, a nobleman and former Imperial Guard officer, has seized a fortified prison-hive, and the 77th Vostroyan Firstborn is deployed to put it down under its new commissar, Flint.

Position
Map frame: 400, 105 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 407 units ≈ 43.4k light years, north of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: 7.8 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Furia_Penitens (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-02), infobox Sector 'Finial Sector' (pg. 26), Class 'Penal World' (pg. 9), every line cited to Commissar (Novel): 'an Imperial Penal World that hosted prisoners from various Imperial worlds such as Vostroya, Pan, and Savlar'; 'The 77th Vostroyan Firstborn regiment of the Imperial Guard was deployed to the world following a rebellion led by former Imperial Guard officer and nobleman Colonel Strannik' (pgs. 9, 32). Black Library's description (Lexicanum Commissar_(Novel)) names 'the prison planet of Furia Penitens'. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: Lexicanum full-text search for 'Furia Penitens' returns only this page, Commissar_(Novel), List_of_Vostroyan_units and Finial_Sector; no other index record uses the name.
classlow
editorial: 'dead', the dataset's barren-rock palette, because Lexicanum's only terrain sentence is 'The planet is barren, and has large jagged mountain ranges and deep valleys covering the surface' (pgs. 20-21): no water, vegetation, sand, ice or city-sprawl word. The infobox tag 'Penal World' is a function, not a look, and was not copied. 'fortress' was refused because the fortified prison-hive is a building, not the world's surface; 'desert' because no sand or dune word appears. The airless crater texture is the palette's, not a claim about the atmosphere.
segmentummedium
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Furia_Penitens derived: gives Sector 'Finial Sector' (Commissar, pg. 26) and leaves Segmentum blank (category 'Segmentum Unknown'); https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Finial_Sector says 'The Finial Sector is an Imperial sector in the Segmentum Obscurus' (citing the 5th Edition Rulebook pg. 116, Codex: Necrons 7th ed. pg. 12, Codex: Thousand Sons 8th ed. pg. 24) and lists Furia Penitens as its one known world. A sector-to-segmentum step, not a quoted field.
gposlow
inferred: segmentum-level. Canon places the world only in the Finial Sector, and the sector only in Segmentum Obscurus; no sector position, subsector, neighbour or bearing is published (Lexicanum Finial_Sector, Furia_Penitens). Placed at [400, 105], well inside the stylised 'obscurus' polygon (53 units from its edge, checked) in the empty northern reach, 113 units from the nearest marker (Donatos), so it implies no neighbour, no Cadian Gate and no Eye of Terror relation. The coordinate claims nothing finer than 'somewhere in Segmentum Obscurus'. UPGRADE CANDIDATE: a published Finial Sector position would replace it. Z 7.8 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs furia-penitens 400 105).
erasmedium
m41 only: Lexicanum's chronology of Black Library settings dates Commissar 'After 833.926.M41' (citing the novel's epigraph), and List_of_Vostroyan_units says the 77th was destroyed at Golan Hill in 926.M41 and reconstituted before Furia Penitens. Nothing is published about the world in another era. Allegiance 'imperium': an Imperial penal world in revolt, with the Imperial Guard sent to restore it.
