This archive tracks four layers. A record present in 1 of them (HH) is silent in the rest, and says so.
The Horus HeresyM30–M31
contested
Seized by the Iron Warriors to bar the Ultramarines' road to Terra
The system on Roboute Guilliman's path through the Ruinstorm towards Terra, as the Heresy nears its end (Spear of Ultramar). Warsmith Khrossus and a lone Grand Company of Iron Warriors, sent by Perturabo at Horus's order, take control of it and hold it against the Ultramarines in the Battle of the Carchera System, with Word Bearers sorcery narrowing the safe passage through the storm so that the fleet must come through. Canon names no star, no world and no body count here, and says nothing about what the system looks like.

Position
Map frame: 936.8, 514.1 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 437 units ≈ 46.5k light years, east of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: -9.9 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.

identityhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Spear_of_Ultramar_(Novella ) (Black Library's description: 'Guilliman's path through the Ruinstorm crosses through the Charchera system, and here Warsmith Khrossus and a lone company of Iron Warriors have been given a fateful mission'); the same words in Warhammer Community's Sunday Preview of 5 Oct 2025 (https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/ftpj7noz/sunday-preview-a-tale-of-three-captains/) and Saturday Pre-orders of 11 Oct 2025 (https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/vbojdl9z/saturday-pre-orders-three-new-combat-patrols-inbound/). Lexicanum's interior articles, written from the text, spell it 'Carchera': https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Battle_of_the_Carchera_System (Chapter 2), Khrossus, Warforged, Ker_Vanthax, Rissin, Hierax (Chapter 1). The publisher's spelling is the label; Lexicanum's is kept as aliases so search finds both. Lexicanum has no Carchera, Charchera or Carchera_System article (all checked 2026-10-02, read directly in a browser). NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no index record uses either name.
typehigh
A system with no named world is not a type this index carries (planet, moon, station, ship: warhammer-3d-map/docs/SCHEMA.md), so the record stands for the system as a whole, the same compromise as khorsari-reach-worlds and the 'Unnamed worlds of' records. The label says 'System' so it does not claim a planet called Charchera exists.
segmentumhigh
null: no permitted source gives a segmentum, sector or neighbour. The only geography is a route: the system lies on the Ultramarines' path from the Ruinstorm to Terra ('which the Ultramarines would need to pass through to reach Terra', Lexicanum Khrossus, Chapter 1), and nothing fixes where on that route it lies.
gposlow
inferred: the system is NAMED but canon never locates it, so the record claims no segmentum and sits on the unsurveyed rim at the generator's rim_xy('charchera') = [936.8, 514.1] (the function in build_locations.py evaluated on its own, which reproduces vorganthian [896.8, 713.6] and regallus [665.1, 898.2]; the script itself was not run). The position carries no information and must not be read as one: in particular it is NOT a claim that the system lies east of Ultramar. Z -9.9 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs charchera 936.8 514.1). UPGRADE CANDIDATE: a point on the Macragge-Terra route, the day a source fixes how far along it the system lies.
classlow
'temperate' as a neutral default: no permitted source describes a world, terrain, city or climate here; the system is described only as a place the Iron Warriors seize and the fleet must pass. Neither 'fortress' (it is held, not fortified on the page) nor 'daemon' (the ritual acts on the warp passage, not on a world) is painted on it, as for vorganthian and misbah.
erashigh
hh only, the era of the one book that names it (Spear of Ultramar, M31; 'as the Horus Heresy neared its end', Lexicanum Battle_of_the_Carchera_System). Allegiance 'contested': the Iron Warriors 'had seized control of the System' and the Ultramarines must fight through it; the outcome is not on file, so the status avoids words the status-prose rule repaints.
systemIdmedium
editorial: 'charchera', the system's own name.
no-system-surveyhigh
NO systems/charchera.json is authored. ADDING-A-BOOK.md Step 5b makes a new book's primary setting a reason to author a Tier 2 survey, but canon publishes none of its parts here: no star, no named world, no moon and no body count (Lexicanum's Battle_of_the_Carchera_System, Khrossus, Warforged, Ker_Vanthax and Rissin articles and Black Library's description, all read 2026-10-02). An invented one-star-one-planet survey would be the only geography the reader saw, and none of it would be sourced, so the synthesiser draws the record from its own class and seed (the khorsari-reach-worlds precedent). Reopen when a permitted source names a body.
