Imperial fortress world overrun by Waaagh! Goresnappa; one bastion city still standing
A once unconquerable Imperial fortress world, a war world in Lexicanum's filing, invaded by the Waaagh! of Warboss Gazrot Goresnappa. By the time Warboss opens only one bastion still stands, the last human fortress city on the plains of Aranua, and Goresnappa lies crushed beneath a Gargant's severed head. The bosses of his six clans fight to succeed him, racing for a gate a weirdboy's prophecy places beneath that city.
Position
Map frame: 441.8, 934.5 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).

Height above the disk plane: 9.4 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.
System: Aranua System

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Aranua (read in a browser, 2026-10-05): 'Aranua is an Imperial Fortress World, that has been invaded by the Waaagh! of Warboss Gazrot Goresnappa'; only one Imperial city remained when the Warboss was killed, and the clan leaders and the Rebel Grot Snaggi Littletoof race to find the prophesied gate beneath it. Corroborated by Black Library's own description (https://www.blacklibrary.com/all-products/ebook-warboss-eng-2023.html, Internet Archive capture 20230323145158): 'With only one bastion still standing on the once unconquerable fortress world of Aranua'. NAME-COLLISION CHECK: no index record uses the id or label, and Lexicanum has one Aranua.
classlow
www.warhammer-community.com/2023/03/18/black-library-pre-orders-orks-and-templars-conquer-todays-novels/ Painted `fortress` (armoured grey rock) because fortifications are the only thing any permitted source describes on this surface: 'only one bastion still standing on the once unconquerable fortress world' (Black Library), 'a mysterious door beneath a human fortress' (Warhammer Community, 18 Mar 2023, , Internet Archive 20230410232521), and 'a map of the plains of Aranua' (Warhammer Community, 13 Aug 2022, https://www.warhammer-community.com/2022/08/13/black-library-pre-orders-a-haul-of-epic-fiction-fit-for-a-warboss/, Internet Archive 20240203115401). The infobox's 'War World, Fortress World' tags were NOT read across as a look: War World is a status with no palette, as for Nymea. `temperate` and `desert` were refused because no source gives a climate or terrain word beyond 'plains'; `dead` because the last city is still inhabited and held. A reasoned look, not a published one.
segmentumhigh
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Aranua null, stated rather than guessed: leaves Segmentum, Sector, Subsector and System blank and files the page under 'Segmentum Unknown'; no Warhammer Community article or Black Library description gives a region.
gposlow
inferred: named in the book's own description and unplaced anywhere else, with no segmentum, sector, subsector, bearing or theatre published. Unsurveyed rim (rim_xy('aranua'), r = 438.4 of the 470-unit disk, outside every stylised segmentum polygon), no positional information. Z 9.4 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs aranua 441.8 934.5).
systemIdlow
'aranua', named for the world because no system is published. no-system-survey: canon enumerates nothing about the system (no star, no other body, not even a body count) on Lexicanum, Warhammer Community or Black Library's description, so no systems/aranua.json is authored; an invented one-star-one-planet file would claim more than the sources do.
eraslow
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/List_of_Media_set_during_the_Era_Indomitus indomitus only, and the date is the shelf's, not the book's: Lexicanum lists Warboss in its 'List of Media set during the Era Indomitus' (), and Warhammer Community places it 'in the same ork-verse as Mike's previous teef-rattling tales' (3 Aug 2022, https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/pWwuMMiW/the-new-limited-edition-of-warboss-has-more-loot-than-you-can-shake-a-squig-at/), the Era Indomitus Ufthak Blackhawk stories. No permitted source dates the invasion or names Aranua before it. Allegiance 'contested': the Waaagh! holds the world but for one Imperial city. NEEDS CHECKING against the novel.
