imperium
Imperial Knight world, struck by the Red Waaagh! in 998.M41
A Knight world of the Sanctus Reach, as hidebound by tradition as any and burdened with several thousand years of laws never repealed: it is illegal to yawn in daylight or point at the stars, and two-thirds of its people have been jailed or exiled by the Justicars of its knightly houses. Most of the surface is a viscous sulphuric sea far thicker than seawater; the Sacred Isle is the main continent, each island around it the domain of a knightly house, the rest little more than penitentiaries. In 998.M41 Warlord Grukk's Red Waaagh! descends on it, the last world of the Sanctus Reach still defiant, and its Knight houses and Cadian regiments fight to hold it, with Space Wolves of Ragnar Blackmane's and Krom Dragongaze's companies among those who fought the Red Waaagh! orks there. Sanctus Reach: Evil Sun Rising tells the invasion from the Orks' side.

contestedImperium Nihilus
Knight world under renewed Ork invasion
Filed by Lexicanum in the Imperium Nihilus. The Orks have come back: its Knight houses have mustered on dozens of battle fronts against whole warbands of greenskin combat walkers, the Ork advance driving toward the planet's most sacred islands, and word is spreading that Grukk is organising an even larger, 'redder' Red Waaagh! to settle his score with the world.
Contested record
Position: the Codex: Imperial Knights 6th-edition e-book map and the Warhammer 40,000 7th Edition Rulebook put Alaric Prime in the Ultima Segmentum below Valhalla, and Codex: Orks 7th edition files the whole Sanctus Reach in Ultima (Lexicanum Sanctus_Reach, Obstiria, Squire's_Rest, Eyrok); Codex: Imperial Knights 7th, 8th and 9th editions moved it into the Gothic Sector of the Segmentum Obscurus, the 9th closest to the Obscurus/Ultima border. This record follows the newest map, as Lexicanum's own infobox does.
Position
Map frame: 470, 290 in the archive's 0–1000 disk space (core at 500, 500).
Distance from the core: 212 units ≈ 22.6k light years, north of the galactic core.
Height above the disk plane: -1.8 units — invented thin-disk jitter, deterministic per record. No published source gives any location a z coordinate.

wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Alaric_Prime (read directly in a browser on 2026-10-05): 'a Knight World of the Imperium' (Sanctus Reach: The Red Waaagh! pp. 10-11); Subsector Sanctus, System Sanctus Reach System, population over 400,000,000 before the Red Waaagh!, tithe grade Solutio Extremis (pp. 5, 9); the laws, the Justicars, the sulphuric sea, the Sacred Isle and the island domains (Overview); the battle with Ragnar Blackmane's Great Company (Index Astartes: Lone Wolves p. 8) and Krom Dragongaze's defeat (Warhammer: Visions 26 p. 22, a hobbyist showcase); the renewed invasion (Codex: Orks 11th, cover interior). Also https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Red_Waaagh! ('The Red Waaagh! unfolds on Alaric Prime'; 998.M41). NAME-COLLISION CHECK: Lexicanum's hatnote separates this Knight World from 'Alaric (Planet)', a different world in Ultima Segmentum that the 8th Edition Rulebook map shows where the 6th-edition Alaric Prime sat; no index record uses the id or label.

www.blacklibrary.com/warhammer-40000/sanctus-reach-evil-sun-rising-ebook.html PRIMARY for Sanctus Reach: Evil Sun Rising (orks::orks-main::4): Black Library's own page heads the novella 'The Red Waaagh! descends on the world of Alaric Prime, intent on plunging the sector into war' ( (Black Library product page, read on 2026-10-05 from its Internet Archive capture 20140915225102)), and Lexicanum's Stompa article cites the novella's Chapter 9 for the Stompa duel 'on Alaric Prime'.
segmentummedium
obscurus, the Lexicanum infobox (Codex: Imperial Knights 9th Edition pp. 16-17; Gothic Sector, Codex: Imperial Knights 8th Edition pp. 12-13). Contested: see `disputed` (the 6th/7th-edition maps and Codex: Orks 7th say Ultima).
classmedium
'ocean', painted from the page's description, not the infobox: 'Most of Alaric Prime's surface is covered in a viscous sulphuric solution far thicker than seawater', with the Sacred Isle and its ring of islands the only habitable land (Lexicanum Alaric_Prime, Overview). 'Knight World' is a social classification with no palette; 'fortress' would mean armoured grey rock, which nothing describes, though the Red Waaagh! article names a thousand-mile ring of fortifications around the Sacred Mountain.
gposlow
wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Gothic_Sector inferred: region-level only. places the sector 'within the Segmentum Obscurus close to the border of the Ultima Segmentum', and Lexicanum Alaric_Prime says the 9th-edition map moved the world 'closer to the boundrary between the Segmentum Obscurus and Ultima Segmentum'. Placed just inside the Obscurus side of regions.json's Obscurus/Ultima seam at [470, 290] (about 25 units west of the seam, 81 from Cypra Mundi); the offset is editorial and asserts nothing finer. The map carries no other Gothic Sector world to anchor on. Z -1.8 is the zPolicy value (compute-z.mjs alaric-prime 470 290).
erasmedium
m41: the Red Waaagh! of 998.M41 (Lexicanum Red_Waaagh!, Grukk_Face-Rippa, Sanctus_Reach), allegiance 'imperium' because the world stands as a Knight world through the millennium and is still defended at its end; the war is in the status and summary, its outcome is not. indomitus: the renewed invasion and Grukk's rumoured return (Codex: Orks 11th, via Lexicanum Alaric_Prime and Grukk_Face-Rippa), allegiance 'contested'; riftSide 'nihilus' from the page's category Imperium Nihilus. No hh or aoi entry: nothing is published.
